Help with two problems

Hello everyone I am new to this forum. I drive a 2003 E500 with 92K miles. I have two questions. First question: I recently replaced my drivers side engine mount, after I lowered the car, I got in started it up and everything was fine the vibration was gone BUT when i put it in reverse to back it out of the shop the steering wheel felt really really hard to turn almost as if it had no assist. Now remember there are no error messages or any sort of lights on in the instrument panel. I told the shop owner (who is a longtime friend) what had happened and he got in to drive it. When he came back he told me that it might be the steering angle sensor that gave out and he told me to drive it for a couple of days and if it still has that problem to bring it back and he will fix it. Its been about a week and it still has the problem, I am going to take it back to check it out and fix whatever the problem is but i just want to know your opinion on this. We did slightly move the rack and pinion down to slide the mount out so maybe we disrupted something there? Second question: I recently purchased white LED bulbs for my DRLs but when I put them in and turned the lights on, I drove the car from my bro's house to mine and when I got home I noticed that they had turned an ultra blue color. I'm guessing since the DRLs run on low voltage maybe that is why they turned blue? So is there any way for me to get a nice pure white light bulb either halogen or LED in there? I don't like the stock yellow look plus I'm upgrading the whole lighting on the car. Any help is greatly appreciated since this is my first Benz. Thanks.

As for the lights, search this forum for "city lights" and decide which bulbs others have used is the right one for you.

First question:
I think i might have had the same problem as you. Is the steering only heavy in reverse? Because my car has no power steering assist under 2000rpms going forwards or reverse. Bought it to mercedes and they said that its the first time they had this problem. Anyways they said it was a problem with the hydraulic or electronic sensor and had to replace it for A$2000+. I drive an 03 E320

Second Question:
I bought LEDs from ebay. it says 'no error' but when i got it, there is an error message for the right hand side light. I used normal blue bulbs and error went away.

Hope this helps

Well it is pretty hard in reverse but mostly from a standing stop like at a red light if I move the steering wheel either left or right it feels hard but when i reach cruising speeds like around 20 or 30 it is normal. As for the DRL's I bought another pair of "error free led's" from ijdmtoy.com, waiting on those to see how they work. and another problem I had just yesterday was that I got my LED turn signal bulbs in amber but when I put them in only the driver's side lit up and the other side did not get any power at all and I have no idea why. If anyone knows about this I would greatly appreciate the help.
