Custom Ipod install inside. Harman Kardon.

My new to me E500 came with the factory ipod control. I was excited about this feature until I tried it. Cumbersome to say the least. Here's my solution: Harman Kardon Drive + Play 2 hidden in the ashtray. The ipod is stashed under the cupholder and wired into the AUX input. The wireless controller on the armrest.

This switch is connected to a splitter that allows 3 aux inputs from the one. I can select between ipod, aftermarket SAT radio and one more unused input.

The ipod controller is an awesome unit, but has been discontinued for some reason by Harman Kardon. I bought mine off of Ebay.

Let me be the first to say nicely done! I've been an E Class owner for about 5 hours and this was a nice first thread to find!

I see your car is an early model. Does it have an aux input in the glovebox?
