Should i spend more and get the amg appearance package? Or would it be better and cheaper to get the sport and add the E-63 Bumper?
Anyway, my opinion would be to find one with the P2 package and the other options you may want. There are a TON of them for sale.
The price has gone up a bit since the spring, when there were hundreds being sold at the DC auction, but has not moved up too much.
AMG sport package is nice, but it's not an AMG... really. The regular sport package came as a free option with that car. If you're hot on AMG look for an older E55, they're pretty inexpensive, depending on mileage and year, and you get a total rocketship.
Have fun. PM me if you want details regarding the dealer I was mentioning.

Also, a smart shopping tactic is to pretend like the AMG Package doesn't mean anything to you, and act as if you barely notice it. In the Used market it shouldn't command much of a premium, unless someone is specifically looking for it.
For example, my old W211 with AMG Pack was a very rare find for its year, I did pay a slight premium for it when I bought it, due to really needing one with it, but when I was selling it, most buyers didn't seem to want to pay a premium for it.
Between the two though, I'd take the AMG Package, it's a must on an E-Class IMO.
