A simple work around if your tilting mirror function in reverse is not working. First set your seat, mirror, wheel position in one of the 3 memories available. Then adjust the passenger mirror down so you can see the curb. Without touching the seat, driver mirror or wheel position, set the new setting of the mirror into one of the unused memories.

I have my standard driving positions stored in memory #1 and my tilted passenger's mirror stored in memory #3. Before backing up near a curb I simply depress memory #3 for a few seconds as the passenger's mirror tilts down into position.

I'll use it this way until I get a local dealer to enable the tilting mirror function as described in the owner's manual.

I think your solution is better then having the mirror tilt when in reverse. Most times I want the mirror in the normal position and a few times need the tilted mirror when parallel parking. I had this done by mentioning that the owners manual lists the feature. SA did the work without hesitation.

I set up an appointment at my local dealership and then called Ray. The technician at my dealership worked with Ray over the phone. No dice! It still did not work. Technician says that my car just doesnt have it- apparently some of the 07 just did not have this feature.....

Quote: Late this afternoon, I called Ray, the SA at FJ's in Newport Beach, and he definitely remembered the recent SDS mod on the 08 E350 to enable the tilt/parking mirror. I asked if he or the SDS tech would provide me with the steps needed to do the mod. He respectfully declined my request, but offered that he would welcome any MB dealer SA to give him a call about this when your car is in the shop for the software mod, and he will have his SDS tech get on the phone with your dealer's SA or SDS tech and explain the steps needed.
That's good enough for me.
Ray can be reached at 949-718-3200.
I went there today and they did this in less than 20mns.. nice customer service.. got some coffee while waiting..

Was hoping they could make it so the windows close when it rains too.. but they said thats not available.

Thanks MB World!?!

Exactly, my dealer enabled this option for me for around $80.

Worth every penny although it's a shame I had to pay for a feature that was standard on my '05 C230....
