Keyless Go
I have a 2008 E350 Wagon. The Keyless Go system does not work well. I have to hold the key near the door for it to open, not in my pocket, like MB says. Often, after I have started the car, the warning light goes off saying key not detected.
The MB dealer has already replaced the driver side door handle thinking that would solve it. The only thing it did was to create a creaky noise when the window is raised and lowered.
Anybody else have this issue?

Did you try the batteries in the key? That seems like the most simple thing to do. Goto radio shack and buy the replacements (battery type in the manual). I think each key requires two. Keyless go kills batteries within a year or so from what I've read.

Well it must be the transmitter inside the car. I think there's something additional in the cabin that holds the link after entry. The door handles are only for entry/exit I think. It's got to be that or the keys themselves...
I had a problem similar to this. Where do you keep your key? When I keep it in my phone pocket it doesnt work, but when it keep it in my other pocket it works perfectly.

I have the same problems with my 09. The keyless features are very spotty on a consistent basis. I have a hard time believing the batteries have anything to do with this.
