2007 E320 Bluetec - location of oil drain plug
I'm a shade tree mechanic and I'm looking to do my own Mobil 1 oil change to save roughly $350 versus having the dealer do a B Maintenance. I have the STAR Service Manual Library on DVD for my Model 211 and I've read the procedure for doing an oil change.
Unfortunately, it doesn't show definitively the location of the oil drain plug. I am 95% sure that I found a 13 mm black drain plug that is seated in a small black drain pan located just in front of where the transmission mounts to the engine. The trick is that I want to be 100% sure so as to not drain the wrong fluid.
Might someone confirm the drain plug location? The car is on stands with the bottom trim panels off and I'd like to finish the job tonight so the wife can't get too upset!

The car is no longer on jack stands...
But I do need to change the oil before long. Would someone please have a look and confirm that I found the correct drain plug? From all the other MB drain plug diagrams and photos that I have seen, I was expected the plug to be set in a cast metal piece of some sort rather than a stamped pan.

Agreed, that's it. I spent a while looking for mine on my '09... even took the steering support plate of in search of it before finding the well disguised, camouflaged plug.
