Alignment...Could it be tires???
I took my E-500 in yesterday and they did a complete alignment (again). This time they put in the extended camber bolts and talked with the factory while trying to get it corrected.
Now it tracks straight on the highway, but still pulls to the right in town at normal and low speeds. They took it out and agreed that it was not normal. The sales manager at the dealership is having the same problem. The factory mentioned to them that it may have something to do with the tires. I told the service advisor when he called me to check how it was doing that I thought I had read on this forum that someone had to change away from the Continental tires in order to correct it.
I have Continental Touring Contact 245/45/R17/95H
Anyone else having any problem with this tire. I know that Continental is not the tire of choice, but did not know it was possible to whine and get Michelins when I picked up the car.
I am leaving for an extended trip on Sunday and only have Friday and Saturday to get something done if possible.
Any help?

I had the same problem with the alignment. I have the same tires and mine does the same thing in low speed city driving. However, I 'believe' is normal based on the variation in the road and the water run off slope.

The exact same thing happened to my '99 E55. They added the extension bolts and the car still pulled. A bad front tire was the culprit. Try swapping the spare. That's how I founds it.
