New tires today..

Shopped around for Contis, Michelin, Bridgestone and Firestone.
Prices varied from $613.00 to $995.0
Settled on the Bridgestone Potenzas GO19, 245/45R/17 95H
Paid $713.38 for the whole operation including road hazard, sales tax, etc.
Any feedback on the Potenzas...?
On the way home the car did not feel right so I checked the pressure when I got to my driveway and it was 50 lbs each wheel..

Why did the tire dealer pump 'em up that high?
Initial seal and settling or just incompetence?
MB calls for 29 lbs in the front and 36 lbs rear with a few more pounds for spirited driving.
(Why the low pressure in the front where the heavy V-8 lives...The rear is probably lighter and with less load unless the average MB Wagon driver hauls bricks and lead ingots on a daily basis)
Hoping the Potenzas will do a fine job over the next few years but first time with Bridgestones and in my youth they had reputation for being so-so...Hopefully we have all improved with age..

I am aware that tires warm up and the pressure increase with warm/hot tires after fast driving or parked in the sun all day .
The value is usually 3 to 4 lbs, no 21b lbs.
In my case I drove less than a mile to get home, then checked the pressure after a while..Cool to the touch and slow driving..Not a factor.
Tires had been in the shade the last 3 hours in the tire shop.
Checked again in the evening..Still way high.
Let out 15 lbs then drove to work 30 miles on the freeway @ 90 mph.
Stiff and rough ride, will adjust further to MBs specs.
Hopefully soft and quiet ride will follow...
