CD/Multi-disc problem

CD/Multi-disc problem
Hello,
New here and new to Mercedes. My wife purchased a 08 E350 4Matic the other night and it didn't have the owners manual (it's coming). That's really the problem. I'm flying blind because I'm not familiar enough with the brand to know what the heck is going on. After she brought it home she noticed a whirring noise at the radio. It sounded like a disc that was trying to eject. Of course the single disc slot was fine and could take and eject without trouble. Finally figured out that by pushing the button below the warning button allowed access to the multi-disc changer and that's where the trouble is. You can feel the unit making the noise. I can't get a disc into the slot. Nor will holding down the various disc buttons eject them. Not only that but pushing the said button doesn't close the panel. Eventually it closes on it's own.
I contacted MB customer service and talked with an agent but he really couldn't come up with anything other that it's still under warranty and that I should contact my dealer. That I plan to do but I was curious if anyone here might have an idea? I downloaded the owners manual but the audio system is separate and I can't seem to find where to get it.
On a side note. The car didn't have the navigational DVD. Should it have? Or was that an option and I'll have to pay to get one? The dealer knows about the missing DVD and supposedly they're getting it but they're not a MB dealer so they may not be able to. Just curious.

PM email address and I will forward COMAND manual include VIN if you want MB datacard listing initial delivery date, factory installed equipment, etc. In addition, let me know if vehicle is equipped with voice control (telltale, lever right side of steering column) and I will include VCS manual. As instructed by CAC, have dealer check CDC under warranty. Navigation disc should have been included in purchase reason being system is inoperable without it. Request selling dealer supply current disc is v.9.0 (Navteq.com U0028-0070-909) at no cost.
