2009 E320 Blutec 1-2-rough up-shift fix
Just had the dealer flash a transmission software update that fixed a slightly rough one - two up-shift. Wasn't bad, but then again, wasn't right. After sending the paremeters to their Chicago maintenance people, it was learned that the one - two shift was almost at the upper limits of the shifting paremeters. After the software upload, it shifts as smooth as a baby's butt. just sharing this as information. Further information, this was on my 2009 E320 Blutech with 6400 miles.

I noticed this on my 2009 Bluetec in S (Sport) mode. Thought this was a result of the high torque of the diesel, so I just keep it in C (Comfort?) mode which, I believe, starts it in 2nd gear. That kept initial acceleration smooth.
If you got this fixed for the S mode, then I probably should talk to the dealer on my next visit. Is this a generic problem for the Bluetec or was your transmission just out of spec parameters? Thanks.

They first thought it was the valve body, but a check of my vehicle proved that I had the latest transmission stuff. There is a software update to correct my problem, but yes, my 1 - 2 shift was rough and the flash fixed it. My suspicion of high torque with the diesel could have been some of the reason as you know, they are a torq'y engine and the flash probably took care of spreading that out over a wider time frame.
And yes, it was for the 'S' mode where I drive most of the time.
