recirculation turns off after a short while on its own?
Why does the recirculation automatically turn off after awhile?
My AC system is really weird, with the recirculation off, my ac will only blow cool air at best and much colder with recirculation on but after I turn it on it would turn itself off after maybe 10 or 15 minutes then my AC would blow cool air again on long trips and extremely hot days, i find myself reaching over hitting it on all the time.

It's normal for the recirc. mode to shut itself off after 10-15 minutes. Very useful when getting into a hot car but not desirable for long trips as you are not getting much fresh air.
If you can't keep the interior cool in normal mode there is something amiss in the A/C and you need to get it checked out by a qualified shop.
