Navi Gurus Question

I added a Comand unit and Nav drive in my 2003 E55. All the NAV functions works, but the only problem I am having is when I press the MAP button nothing happens. it doesnot pull up the current location on the car.
Any tips on what could be wrong?

After you put the nav drive in and checked that everything works, did you drive around for about 20 minutes to calibrate the system?

Make sure you have enough satellite signals. If your system shows no satellites your GPS antenna might be defective.

I thlink you have to go to MB dealer (use SDS) to set NAVIGATION exist on your car in order the MAP button to show (I remember that it was done a few years ago when I put OEM Navi to my W208). MB dealer charged $100.00 to roll their SDS computer out, set it on my car, I hear that some dealer do the SDS without charge, but I was not the lucky one. Regards.

Make sure that you have all updates as well. It could be that your DVD needs those updates to function. There have been posts on here discussing this.

I told him that already. There are 2 things one has to set. The Cluster Display to have navigational output like the compass and routing information and to tell the car that there is a new MOST device in the ring. If that is done and the button still doesn't show any response my best guess is that the button is defective.
