SRS light on when cold; off when warm
Every morning when it's below 35 degrees, I start my car and i get the SRS malfunction light and message. I drive like that to work and then when I leave work, I start it up and its on again but the error goes away after a minute.
What would cause this to occur? Bad battery? I'm thinking it has to do with the outside temperature and the battery losing power when it's at freezing.

About a week after this started to happen, the SRS just stayed on without going away. The a week after that i smelled a burning wire/plastic odor and then my steering wheel button light started going on and off - it was night and the illuminations were flickering; the buttons didnt work when the illumination was off. Then the buttons stopped workingthe next day. Now i have the SRS light, no horn, and no steering wheel buttons. In addition to the SRS, the "passenger airbag off" light/indicator in the center console is on too.
I havent checked it out because i've been too busy, but i got a heads up that it could be either the steering wheel module or the wire harness to the steering wheel. Other than looking to see if the harness wiring is burned, i dont know how to check if it's damaged. PM me your emails and i can send you the email i received.
I want to add that my heated steering wheel switch doesnt work either. Only the turn signal switch is working (turning signals and wipers).

I heard that these SRS lights are diffcult to diagnose, but SDS would tell you the location of the error. I replaced my turn signal switch and i got the SRS light after i replaced it. My heated steering wheel didnt work either. Bought it to the dealer and told me SDS said it was in the steering column or airbag. I replaced the turn signal switch again 6months later on a hunch and that ended up being the problem. Heated steering wheel switch worked and i got the SRS light reset by SDS. Only problem is, the turn signal switch is the only thing now working on my steering wheel!!!!! LOL
