Looking for some Honest Advice

Hey guys let me just start out by telling you I'm looking for some advice on what you guys would do if you were in my place. I have a 2004 e320 and I am considering selling it for something else because I'm worried about problems. It is at 80k miles and so far has the following problems; the heat only comes from the outer two vents but i can live with that... during summer heat two side speakers stop working after prolonged use.... and sometimes the car jerks at low rpms.... If I keep the car I plan to drive it up to 120,000 ish miles but i also have airmattic and have no clue when or if it was ever changed. What should my expected cost be to get it up there? is it worth it?

any input or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

I would keep the car. Get stuff done as you can afford it. My car is also a 2004 E320, has about 74k miles and the only real big thing I had to get fixed on it was the thrust arm bushing on one side. Extended warranty covered it in my case. Besides that I had some minor things replaced/fixed (which was also fully covered by my extended warranty. I'm happy with the car.

If you have those heat related issues I would let them look at it. Go to an independent MB certified shop since they are cheaper.

That is my advice for you. The car is a good car in the overall and if you don't wanna burn money drive it pass 120k miles. I learned you get the most out of your money if you drive it until it falls apart but that is only me. I don't even think about buying another car ever until this dies on my naturally.

So whatever your decision might be, good luck!

Like I said, get everything checked out. Ask if they would make a deal with you for a fixed price. Maybe they will even give you a discount if you let them check it for you and if there are some things that you would let them fix it then for you.

This W211 is the most sporty, sexy, elegant looking car I have ever seen and I don't say that because I drive one. That is one of the reasons why I won't let this car ever go.

Look at it this way.... you're either going to sell it and buy something new which most likely will have a payment attached (at least it would for me). So for ever month you're paying what could be a pretty decent repair bill. Or you'll sell your car and buy another used car of equal or lesser value and be pretty much where you are now except you'll have a car with unknown history that may incur a big cash outlay.

It's one thing to sell your car because you just want something different but if you're pleased with it and as of now there's nothing wrong with it (well at least yours is somewhat minor), if it were me I'd just keep it and enjoy. Maybe stash a bit back for a "rainy day." Then if something does come up you'll be padded a bit and it's still better than paying a monthly loan.
