Angry Not Again!!!

Woke up this morning to another front flat tire! Had a flight to catch and of course, missed it!!! This is the 2nd Michelin Pilot that has blown out on me, both with excess wear on the inner portion of the tire. Don't know if this is an alignment issue or what...Put on two new Continental ContiPro's on rears and used the other Pilot for fronts...Still plenty of tread left on the Pilots...Sorry no pics, anyone else have this issue with excess wear on inside of tire?

Go to a tire place and have them check your toe and camber.

Weird. Is your car dropped? What tire pressure are you running?

Chances are kingofire and K-A are correct about your alignment or tire pressure. I've noticed these cars need air pressures and alignment correct at all times for proper tire wear and ride comfortability. Do you have lousy streets with pot holes and construction in your area? If so, an all wheel alignment is probably in order.

From my experience, wheel alignment is easy to detect. What I do is, I go on the highway and at 65+ on a straight flat road I let go of the steering wheel and if the car tracks straight for 6+ seconds, then to me the alignment is fine.
As K-A mentioned check your tire pressure as well. I try to over inflate my tires by 2-3 psi that also helps from cupping of the inner side wall.

damnit!!!!!

in regards to the TPMS: that thing is awesome....

it let me know last night that one tire was low.......the IC was in red.......
and the pressure kept dropping, luckily for me I was 'in town' and there was
'free' air nearby.........it actually stays red until it's corrected.....very cool......
got back up to the right pressure and the warning light went out and the IC returned to it's normal color....
then I could scroll to the tyre pressure tab on the controls to see all the pressures........

turns out I have
some foreign object in my tire......when I got home I could still hear it leaking....and this morning it's flat..........bummer.........that won't damage my wheels will it??? to sit flat?

stupid tire...........very cool TPMS

Ah that sucks, your wheel should be fine. Just don't drive any more on it.

A car thats needs an alignment does not always drift. A car that excessively wears tires at the edge needs suspension work. Period. All your test demonstrates is that the car doesn't drift. You might have several front end problems, one of which pulls against your drift enough so it doesn't present itself.

AM...had the service B performed about 3 months ago, dealer reported no issues (although I did have some leaky caskets replaced under warranty). My prevailing thought is with low profile tires it tough to see how low/high tires are...I try to check weekly and I do notice that I lose about 2psi/week, don't know if it's the Pilots but hopefully these new Continentals hold pressure better

Rxbenz - you could use nitrogen in your tires. After my purchase I paid for the nitrogen filled tire and notice that the loss of air between checks is less. This is only my opinion but with the low profile tires, I do not want take any chances.

I don't think it is normal to lose 2psi per week.

Yeah, 2 psi per week is crazy. You shouldn't lose anything per week.
