Navigation not showing map

Hi,

Followed the retrofit instructions and all worked fine. The I think I did a stupid thing and put in a 2006.2 disk. Previously it was had a 2006.1 It did show some software loading. After this, I get no map display, but it does seem to know where I am, and gives directions, but no map whatsoever. I tried the old disk, but have the same issue.

I think I've read almost every post on this topic but remain confused. Any help would be very much appreciated

I read previous posts about command software update. Will this fix the problem?

The software update it installed is incompatable with the firmware of the drive and is causing a conflict. The dealer can flash the drive and all will be well again. ...happened to me many moons ago in my 2004. (but then again EVERYTHING happend to me in my 2004 )

The plot thickens!

I go out and restart the car, everything is working. So now, I am off to the dealer to version code. I'll ask about the map button issue (mine works, but I can ask if they've heard of a problem with it). I'll post afterward.

Ok got the nav programed (cost $95). All works well. They did say the map button should work without programming. Otherwise I would also suggest trying a different nav disk.

The MAP button works without programming. Version coding only enables the cluster display's menu to show you a "compass" and on which street you are currently driving or when you actually have a route set it tells you when and where to turn with nice arrow symbols.
