Problems with my 2003 E320
I have had a number of issues and problems with my 2003 E320. My car has been in service a total of 8 times since October delivery. To add insult to injury, MB Canada simply ignores my complaints. 3 emails to the president of MB Canada, followed by a letter from my lawyer have gone unanswered. I am rapidly nearing the point of being forced to sue. One of the problems with my car is a noise coming from the dashboard in cold weather, and another is the panoramic roof flexing and squeaking in warm weather. Does anybody else have these problems?

The outside temperature may be causing the dash and roof noise...this is not an excuse but only to say you need to solicit responses from other colder climate people to see if they too have this problem. Do you guys in Canada have a Lemon Law?

You have a bad dealer / service department. if you have close access, take it to another dealer.

However, you would THINK they would treat you better because of that. I guess service is service, and the lack of it, starts from the top.
I am sorry to hear about your problems. I don't have any of the issues you mention, but I do have other (minor) issues that I mostly overlook. I have accepted the fact that no matter how much money you pay, the art of service is dying.
Past 30 years I had 8 different MB models ranging from SL`s,S class, E class etc. and I had some trouble with every one of them.
Before I bought this 2003 E320 I drove Lexus an Nissan. Boring but NO problems.
I don`t think its the service dept. I think its Mercedes policy to introduce new technology and let the buyer iron out all the problems. The following model year they usually correct the initial problems.(Its like Microsoft in a way).
This year for example they introduced the Panoramic roof.(one of my options) I don`t think the bonding technique is perfected yet.
As a result in warm weather it expands and makes all sorts of noises.

It's true...MBZ seems to let even LATE first year production cars out to the public with problems that even have TSB's out for some time...and they wonder why their JD Power ratings suck

Originally I tried to buy my car at Performance Cars ( also privatley owned ) in St.Catherines in Ontario. The sales manager told me that they are not allowed to sell me a car if I don`t live in the area!!

Yeah right. Business must be really good for them to use that line. Dealers are in business to make a profit - they don't care who they sell the car to.

cars at list prices only. This is a form of price fixing.
The privately owned daelers are more flexible and I think they were pressured not to sell cars that come in to the Toronto area....
I had similar problems with my E 500 in France.
After 3 weeks investigation in the MB tech center, they finally found that the dash noises were coming from a badly glued windscrean. Problem solved by changing the windscrean under waranty.
As regards the panoramic sunroof, I do not know what they did. I suspect they changed some rubber parts but the problem must be considered as solved.
