Is Windex Safe?
Is Windex Safe?
Is Windex safe for cleaning the side-view mirrors as well as the the windows and front and rear windshields of the car? It sounds like a silly question but I thought that some of the glass might have a coating that might be sensitive to chemicals in Windex.
Just wanted to make sure I will not damage any coatings, especially on the rear view mirror or side-view mirrors by using Windex to clean all the glass.

I thought Windex had Ammonia. I am not as concerned about the glass but more concerned about the rubber trim around the glass and wanted to avoid any issues with any rubber seals being affected. So is Windex totally safe? How about if some gets on the paint?

Avoid the ammonia. Used to work with high end plumbing fixtures. Glass cleaner (especially with ammonia) can pit the metal plating. Advised people to drape faucets if they sprayed their mirrors down. My $0.02.
Do you use the regular Invisible Windshield stuff or the Invisible Windshield with rain repelling?

There a windex for cars and it specifically say amonia free, it works for me. Nothing really special besides not worrying about damaging my interior.
