The '07 keys are POS's, IMO. I've seen them cracked, faded, looking "greasy", etc.

The '10 keys seem to be refined in a durable and quality sense. I don't expect (at least I hope not) for it to wear out.

You are blaming MB for keyfobs being greasy? I wonder how the grease got on the keyfobs... I guess MB should have designed the keyfobs to repel grease

My '07 keyfobs have no grease and I generally keep them away from grease.

Keys are Keys, they absolutely take just as much abusive as our chops sticks and forks in our house. they are used each and everyday of the year (for daily drivers), I have seen button cracked on our keys, so I just try to prevent as much as possible by not pushing the buttons with my nails.

I mean the plastic material will start to look shiny and "greasy". Maybe the ones I saw would inevitably look that way due to whatever kind of use the owner was putting it through, but the 2010+ keys definitely are a quality improvement/evolution from the 2007 keys.

I also found the pre-'07 keys to feel more quality than the '07 keys, not to mention, I've seen may '07 keys with the silver star starting to bronze.
