Curious if anyone has an Obsidian Black E-Class and knows if that color came as an added cost option. I picked up my E-Class recently (CPO) in Obsidian black and the MB dealer told me there were not as many in this color given the added cost as more buyers opted for straight black. I like the color as it has some gray in it however given I was buying CPO I was more interested in the V8 and P2 package which my car has.

I have seen the obsidian black in person and to me if I would have to pay extra for this color, I would not unless I want a a blackish gray look to the car because that exactly what it looks like. Of course everyone has their preference. I still think the paladium silver and the pearl white is their best looking color on the line, I wish they had the pearl white for the w211

 

I like the silver a lot and would have preferred that however couldn't find one (CPO) with all the options I wanted. The Obsidian Black is nice and is slightly different than standard black (slight gray to it as you point out) and I haven't see too many in this color. So far I love the car. The look is classic and the power is there on demand.

 

How different are they from Iridium Silver and Arctic white ?
