Check engine light on.. unable to read codes
MY check engine light came on today, and the engine started to misfire. I tried to use a generic odb2 reader and it showed an error communicating. So then I plugged in my SNAP-ON MTG-2500 with the proper mercedes modules and it was unable to connect to the engine ecu. I was able to run diagnostics on the instrument cluster and check for errors on the transmission but nothing on engine management. I also tried to use the global odb2 options for the 2500 and no luck.... Has anyone ever seen this before? I'm wondering if I'm having an engine ecu failure?
This is on a 2003 e500 w211 with 71K on it.....
I've had this thing since October ( 3 months) and I'm already regretting buying it.... in the 1st 300 miles had a radiator failure which took out the transmission.... the service contract fixed it but it was 6 weeks before I saw my car again... 6 weeks of driving a rental.... which the service contract covered but still....
