Suspension Control Arm Help..

My e500 makes a clunk noise when i hit a pot hole on my front left corner. I thought it was a bad ball joint but i believe it the below(see picture).

there is a round hole on the front control arm. There the shock is bolted to the control arm.

In my case it seem like the rubber and metal tube that goes inside the contril arm shifted. forward and seems like the shock is rubbing against the control arm.

Question
1. is the part sold seperate from the control arm?
2. if i replace the control arm will i have to recalibrate my airmatic?
3. can i do this job my self?
