Ash tray, shifter plate, CD Changer, COMAND out, install in reverse. 6 screws I think and your good! The rest is just mounted with clips and springs.

I use interstate batteries in the CLK, both S classes, Motorcycle, boat and jet ski.

for the S's it was around 170 for the battery.

I will more than likely order a new main battery in the next month to have handy. I'm on borrowed time with it. Check out www.bmwmercedesparts.com for original MB and BMW parts and accs on the cheap. I have spent about 3000Gs with these guys over the last year. I'm always looking for new maintenance for my two German cars. Love it.
$3,000,000??? With that kind of cash, $750 for batteries is cheap!

Hell, if I had that kind of scratch, I'd just get a new car!

(Sorry, just couldn't resist )

my battery died on sat night when i left the lights/fog lamps on. Ended up going to the local auto store (advance auto auto gold group 49 battery) and picked up one for $138 for the main one in the trunk. 3yr full warranty and 7 yr pro rated.

I did have a ctek charger, but its my dd and didnt find out the car was dead til 5pm right before the superbowl on sunday. I'm going to see if the cteck can revive my mb battery.

Great thread

Man,

That was a great thread. I know what to expect when the wifes car battery dies. Think I will just go to Sears and get their top of the line battery. The dealer just put in a new battery a month ago before they sold us the car, so I hope to be good for a few years.

Again, awesome thread...

I wish whoever makes the battery can just go ahead and make the rest of the car as well so we have more reliable cars

Yep. I used one in the winter. If the car sits for longer than two weeks, I'll get low battery warnings without. They work perfectly. I'm using the Super Smart Battery Tender Plus: http://shop.thumpertalk.com/catalogs....asp?p=996&s=2

Yes, ctek is the charger that most of the german automakers use but rebadge under their brand and sell for 2x as much.

I did hook up the charger to my oem battery and it charged it fully.
