Lighted Door Threshold Scuff Strip
Clumsy me ... while clambering into the wife's '07 E350 recently, my boot heel kicked the scuff strip loose from the passenger's door threshold. The strip is just attached with double-sided tape. I got it stuck back down and so far all is well.
Question: If I wanted to remove the scuff strips and replace them with the lighted strips available from MB, how do I power the lighted strips? Is wiring already installed inside the door sill, or is new wiring needed?
Just wondering. If the power is already there and all I have to do is tap into it, I might give it a go. Can you give me any assistance and/or guidance? Anybody out there with experience with these thihgs?

Konigstiger: I don't know you, and I don't drink. But if I ever have the occasion to meet you, all your drinks are on me. You keep this forum honest by always ... always ... coming up with the straight skinney on every MB question that arises. If you aren't on retainer from MB, you sure ought to be ... and a very generous one, at that. Thanks again for the great information you provided in response to my inquiry. I genuinely appreciate it.
