Its interesting to know you've been in VN and enjoyed Pho...Yes, surely I will tell you if any import demand.
About current noise making axle A2303510705, I doubt that MBVN may installed old/bad part for my car??

I've found this one from Ebay:

Please can you help to advise if this fit with my car ?

Many thanks for your help!

Remember that the suffex 80 means that the part is also available as reconditioned.

The issue is the last seven spaces on your VIN(L010276). There are four differentials shown in EPC but with your VIN none are applicable, therefore you must go to a dealer and get the correct part number for your VIN

PS: You owe me a bowl of noodles---I went to Ms Daimler and confirmed that the correct differential for your VIN is 211 350 60 62-----there is no remanufactured part number and no one in the USA or Germany has one----you may want to rebuild the one you have
Hi Pluto! How are you?
I got my car checked by Daimler SEA engineer who confirmed the noise come from rear differential. He also confirmed part number A2113506262 (ratio 3,27) that compatible with the VIN.
Do you know where to buy an used one/or to rebuild it? Thanks!

Mercedes E350 4matic
I recently had this same problem on my 2007 Mercedes E350 4matic. The rear differential was making a terrible rubbing noise, very similar to what a really bad wheel bearing sounds like. It turned out to be the outer pinion bearing. Like everywhere I have read, it would cost roughly $6000.00 to get a new one installed from Mercedes along with returning the old core.

I just got it fixed by having all the bearings replaced with 4 new bearings; 2 new pinion bearings/ races and 2 new carrier bearings/races along with having new seals installed. I saved thousands plus now I know I have brand new bearings and races, news seals and fresh fluid. Below are some pictures

These bearings were real hard to come by, a lot of work to locate and had to be shipped from Europe.

If anyone has this problem and is in the New York area, I am in Westchester County NY, contact me and I can connect you with a great shop that did the work very reasonably compared to replacing the whole differential.

my email is inertiapro@aol.com

I replaced the differential in mine at 113k miles. It was very loud. Found a wrecked 06 cls55 with 50k miles. All is well.

Mercedes E350 4matic
So a lot of people are having problems with the rear differentials on their 4 matic Mercedes E350's, E550's, E500's and GLK350's. If you are having noise coming from the rear differential, either a rubbing noise sounding like a bad wheel bearing or whining noise, it is most likely the rear differential bearings.

Mercedes only sells the whole differential. The reason I know all of this is because I had this problem with my 07 E350 4matic.

If anyone has this problem and is in the New York area, I am in Westchester County NY, contact me. I can have the rear differential rebuild done very reasonably.

I am updated this from my original post, I have a lot more experience with the rear differential rebuild of this model car and a bunch of other models that use the same bearings. The problem with these rear differentials is the bearings. Especially the outer pinion bearing. And this is true on 2007-2009 Mercedes Benz E350 and E550 4matics, 2003-2006 E500 4matic, 2010 GLK350 4matic and probably other models also. I can guarantee at least those models from first hand experience. When Mercedes spec'd the outer pinion bearing from NTN, they did not make it heavy duty enough and most all of these models rear diffs will fail at some point. -So it is not recommended to buy a used one and put it in because its just a matter of time before that one will also fail. Now available is a new and improved outer pinion bearing that was designed and made more heavy duty and robust, with more rollers. Below is a link to buy them on ebay with many sold and a known perfect fit. Any capable shop that does rear diff. rebuilds can do it. It is pretty straight forward.

2008 Mercedes Benz E350 Wagon 4Matic
Help!!!! I recently purchased a 2008 Mercedes E350 4Matic Wagon, and already replaced the faulty wheel bearings. However, the rear differential is shot and is making a really loud humming noise while driving (148,000 miles), both on acceleration and then on deceleration. Is there a full rebuild kit that I can purchase for this issue, and if so, where? I really appreciate all your help as I am anxious to resolve this problem ASAP. Also willing to go the route of replacing with a used rear diff. (the gear ratio reads 3;27 on the diff) Thank you very much!

I would swap in a low mileage unit from a wrecked car. Call a wrecker then get a quote on the labour

My '05 E320 CDI is leaking oil at the left oil seal on the rear differential.

Has anybody replaced it? Is it a hard job?

Thanks,
Peter

My rear pinion seal has a slight leak on my 06 cdi. Both the dealer and indie said that the differential needs to be dropped to replace the pinion seal (8 hour labor charge from dealer). It does not make sense to me as I think they could just drop the driveshaft and replace the seal. They said while it was out they would replace all the seals. Mine is just seeping and is not dripping so I am in no hurry to have it fixed.

There's another source of these parts. Benzexpert.com sells bearings and parts for several models of Mercedes and also happens to be a long time forum member who's a strong contributor to the site, lots of questions answered and DIY's written.

Send an email from the website, mention the forum and receive a 5% discount on any items purchased for a limited time.

I've never heard of repairing a differential costing so much. Had my front diff removed, repaired and bearings replaced for ~ $800 including parts here on the west coast. They'll do it for $300 + parts off the vehicle and you can ship to them.
Send an email from the site for help locating a shop.

Whining noise

purchased a 2011 GL 350 Bluetec with a Horrible sounding Noise.....Sounded like metal on metal whine at high frequency almost like you hear after a large bell is struck and it continued anytime car is above 40 mph. I decided to replace Front and Rear Differential Fluid with Mobil 1 75w90 and Transfer case oil with Mobil 1 ATF. Also changed Transmission Fluid and Filter with Mobil 1 ATF Took 2 drives short and noise is 100% Gone.....Before blaming Differentials, transfer case or bearings just replace the Fluids in the truck first!
