Stuck in Winter Mode.....

Stuck in Winter Mode.....
Hi all,

Have just nought a 2003 Mercedes E320 CDi avantgarde, have noticed that the auto transmission is stuck in 'W' (Winter Mode) and despite repeated button presses, using the gearbox in Tiptronic mode etc., cannot get the darn thing to go into 'S' (Standard Mode)....any ideas on how to correct the situation ??

Oh, have noticed on a receipt for a service at a Mercedes main dealer a few weeks ago that a 'leaking pilot bushing' needs replacing - could this be the culprit responsible ??

S is not standard and W is not winter It's more like S = Sport and W/C is comfort!

One good thing though, you drive more efficient

Thanks for the reply.....but in the manual i have it states that 'W' is winter and 'S' is Standard......not too bothered TBH, just want to get rid of the fault lol !

That's a PITA.

Question is if there is something wrong with a control unit or simply with the push button.
