How to shine wheels on new E???
Please recommend how to keep the wheels stay shiny?
(some wax polish? if so which name? have no knowledge except driving)
Thanks in advance.......
What you might want to consider is Potterfield brake pads which will reduce the brake dust on your wheels.
Prep. clean wheel very well.... first wash with plain (no hand locations or scents) Dawn blue dish wash cleaner (only use this wash first time or when ever you want to strip off all waxes. Dawn can't hurt the paint (wheel or autobody) but will hurt the wax!
Instead of using wax (wax has a low melting point) I use one of the Poly coats like Zanio. You can also use Klasse, Blackfire.....
Put several coats on. Then put a single coat or two on monthly after a good wash and dry.
Wash at least weekly (Remember, COOL wheels!)
Pretreat wheels with a quality wheel cleaner like P21S. I then use my dirty (dirty is a realative term here, my car is really never that dirty) car wash after washing the car and do the wheels last. Do ALL surface areas of the wheel, not just the face. All dirt and brake dust just wipe right off. I put the P21S wheel cleaner on first before I wash the car and let it set until the car is done and I start the wheels. Do Not let the P21S dry. A light mist of warter from the hose here and there while washing the car will prevent drying.
Good Luck Mark:o

Let me get this straight... you can put wax (the one for your body) to put into the wheel?
Don't use metal polish - it'll screw up the clearcoat. Just go w/ Zaino or a regular car wax and you'll be golden.
Let me warn you first... Zaino seems to create car polishing freaks. Guys put on coat after coat of this stuff. The basic advantage is that it isn't a wax, it is synthetic. No discoloration or melting with Zaino.
I'm using up my stash of Zymol and Gold Class. I might go to Zaino after I use the other stuff up.
I'm at the point where I can wash and wax my E in less than an hour. One more thing... If you haven't tried microfiber towels - run out and get some. I won't go back to cotton again. REALLY good at keeping swirls on black paint away!
First, check out Zanio's web site... tons of good info and product discriptions. http://www.zainobros.com/
Second, you can buy the product and use credit cards from Carloina Shine. Steve Treece runs it. Steve is also a wealth of info and will spend the time with you and sell you only what you need.
Microfiber towels..... heres a good source http://www.microfibertech.com/
Lastly, here's a web site deadicated to the "detail nuts"

I am just making sure that I have understood this correctly.
All these shiny products are for the metallic part of the wheel (whitish-silver shiny stuff seen like a plate with spokes). That is what I wish to shine up with Zaino as I now understand.
I did not mean to worry about the tire (Rubbery material that is black).
And if you feel my simplification sign of ignorance, may be it is.
But would rather be certain prior to applying zaino on the metallic shiny but dirty spokes. (? = wheel plate)
So, some example of non-porous auto surfaces would be, Flat Black, Rubber, Old Mag Wheels without a clear coat finish.
Most ALL wheels today are clear coated or chrome and can have Zanio applied. Mark
