Suggestions at Lease End?
Turning in another E-class (my brother's this time around) as the lease is coming to an end. A little bit worried about the end-of-lease checking. How much of an extensive check do they do? I'm from Toronto, Canada, by the way (if for any reason they do it differently in the US).
The vanity mirror on the driver's seat cracked because the shade was down when the driver seat was pushed forward for cleaning. Should this be fixed prior to turning the car in? If yes, any recommendations as to where?
Any other things I should be concerned or worried about?
Thanks!!!
Just changed all 4 tires in Feb 2010 so that shouldn't be an issue. I read in the lease-end package that we must consent to damages found after the car had been taken back, such as if they find additional damages MB can issue us an invoice. Is this true? And if it is, how seriously do they enforce this?
I'm getting mixed reviews that on one side, MB is very lackey with their leased cars as long as there's no major issues with the car it's fine. On the other hand, some people have had horror stories with their returns because the dealer charges them an arm and a leg for minor damages.

I've been advised by MB Financial that a third party vendor will be inspecting my car for the 30-45 minute duration. Apparently dealerships do not do lease-end inspections. The company name is DSFS- Data Scan Field Services, servicing both USA and Canada.
Has anyone been through this before? Any potential issues that would arise? How thorough is the check?
My concerns:
- The telescopic steering wheel does not tilt upwards because there's something stuck in the steering column. Been advised by dealer that there's no need to repair this if I'm returning the car at end of lease.
- The driver's side vanity mirror is broken.
- The driver's side headrest control is broken. Been told by dealer there is no need to replace, just superglue it into place, which I have done.
- One of the rear middle air vent grill is broken, which I have also superglued into place.

I have had no less than 6 leases and never a problem at turn in.
