cut in sidewall of tire
hey all,
So I hit a pothole which caused a cut in the sidewall on the left rear tire, I'm having a hard time seeing how deep it however there is no bubble around it. I believe that its around a couple mm deep at least and almost an inch wide.
Do I need to take it in and get a new tire or should I not worry about it for now as there is no bubble?
(DAMN HOUSTON ROADS)
/Ben

If you can see cord then you need to change the tire.
Or stop in to a state inspection place and ask if it will pass, a place that does'nt sell tires.
Good luck

Change it
OK, so a bubble is one thing, but a cut in the sidewall is another. I would take it to a tire shop and have them look at it. More then likely, they will error on the side of safety and tell you to replace the tire. This will probably not bubble, as there is no where for the air to get trapped and bulge out.
If I had a deep cut in the sidewall, I would change the tire. Safety is key bro. If it blows on you while going down the road. Think of the $$$$ you are going to spend in getting it fixed!!
