Question Tire Upgrade Recommendation needed

I want to upgrade my tire sizes to 245/40-18 front and 275/35-18 rear. I will purcahse the new E55 AMG wheel style IV. Yes I want performance, BUT...I want the best ride and lowest noise I can get (This is most important to me). So far, I've been recommended, Dunlop SP9000, Pirelli PZero Rosso and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and the lowest noise and best ride. I owned the Piolt Sports (not A/S) on my BMW and felt they were too load and road/ride rough.

Any thoughts and input would really be appreciated... Mark

Tire Upgrade

I am considering a similar change on my E500 Sport. Benggolf on this forum has made this change already. He can tell you how they ride. According to the surveys on The Tire Rack's website, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is better, quieter, more comfortable and longer wearing than either the ContiTouring Contact CH95, the Conti Contact Sport or Sport 2. For these reasons the Michelin will be my choice for what it is worth.

Mike82Y,

I just went to the Bridgestone web site. The Bridgestone RE050 is the OEM tire for the new E55. The only problem is the front tire is 245/45-18 (we need 245/40-18) and the rear tire only comes in 275/45-18 and we need 275/35-18 to keep the same dia to keep the speedo the same. I guess the E55 speedo has accounted for this larger dia tire. BTW, the RE050 is also the OEM for the BMW Z3 according the the web page. Only 4 sizes made. thanks for trying, Mark

Yes, I'm aware, but it doesn't come in the tire size we need for the "E". But thanks... Mark

I have the Mich Pilot Sports on mine and love them (245 fr, 275 r). I also had the Bridgestone so-3's on my BMW and they worked very well.
