Detailed Review of New 5 Series With 70+ Photos

There's a new detailed review of the upcoming 5 series at germancarfans.com with over 70 photos.
Set for Euro release in 2 months.
Anyone have any thoughts about the dash layout/materials and instrument display?

From what I've seen regarding the 5 Series dash it looks austere and boring. there are not enough knobs, switches or lights to satisfy the mad scientist in me.
I can remember when synthesizers and other electronic products came out with the one knob does it all models (iDrive) and the biggest reason they did it was to save money by having fewer moving parts. The synths became much more laborious to program and lo and behold a few years ago came the much heralded return of the (you guessed it)....knob!!! much to everyones delight.
So give me a dash full of knobs, switches and lights thank you.

I did not have time to read the whole thing but one thing is evident. The interior can not match to E class. But even the older E class had a nicer interior than the older 5 series IMHO.
When I saw the BMW cars and Mercedes displayed closely to each other on the NY Auto Show one thing that really stood out is how much more reach looking and nicer Mercedes interiors are.

The exterior of the new 5 is not bad, but the older 5 looks better.
