VMI report assistance?

Hi there,

Getting ready to pick up my "new to me" '04 E320 4Matic Wagon.
However, the car is out of state and the MB dealer there won't do a VMI until the car is there at the shop. I would love to know more about this car before taking it in for their review, after I fly up there. Just like to know what I am walking into ...

VIN is WDBUH82J54X119611. If you can pull the VMI report on it, it would be greatly appreciated. Just PM me. Thank you!

Call local dealer and explain you just purchased vehicle and are contemplating maintenance that may be needed. Anticipating your business, they should oblige. If you want a copy of datacard (initial delivery date, equipment, etc) PM email address.

The VMI on my CPO car did not have any personal data on it, so I don't know what privacy issues the dealers think they are protecting.

I am having the same problem. I went to my dealership to get a copy of the vmi and they refused to show me anything. They would not show proof of any recalls. They told me that they need to get the car in and charge me diag time to look at my car even though I think its a recall issue. Can you also help me out with my situation? Thanks

I just got back form my trip up to Nebraska to get the car. It drove just fine for the 1,100 journey home. While I was there, I did take it over to the dealer in Omaha. Nice folks ... I was able to "see" my VMI report, but was not able to get a copy. But the service manager let me review it as long as I needed to.
You are right - there is absolutely nothing that I can see on it that would be a privacy concern. Oh well ...

Main thing is that I am pretty satisfied with the results.

Medicus, hopefully you will get to see yours soon. You may just have to take the car in. Oh, and get some of those crazy James Bond camera-glasses and take snapshots of it
