E55 Intakes

Hey Guys,
Wondering if the E55 intake boxes fit on the E500? I know the E500 is a bit different but heard some people swapping them out from the same model AMGs.....also DIY install link would be helpful!

Wrap is not for looks is for performance it dont look much difrent from top view but i had compare both boxes and they are difrent E55 seems to have more air capacity on the air box for a better air induction is also recommended to used K&N filters

I had bought an SL55 AMG intake for use on my E500 a couple years back. After talking with Vadim, of the now defunct VRP Tuning, he told me that they tried an AMG intake on an M113 500 motor and it actually LOST a few HP on the dyno.

I immediately sold my setup. Not much gain, if any, to bad here fellas.

Old thread but I've read that with a tune gains can be made from the amg airbox. If you just bolt on the AMG box it may not do anything or lose power. The ecu tune can be made with your mods.
