HELP - GEARBOX SURGE, E320, W211, 2004
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c7pDR83d_E
Symptom:
Start up cold engine, at low rev (between 1,000-1,600 rpm), transmission tugs and engine surge like applying sudden engine brake or almost like oil cut, observed no gear shift on transmission.
Once engine warms up to normal working temperature, problem disappeared.
Service experience:
- sent to dealer, no mentioned on service check report.
- tried replaced transmission oil, replaced spark plugs, replaced some gear shaft parts to no avail.
- follow solution mentioned here, replaced "TORQUE CONVERTOR CONTROL SOLENOID", problem FIXED!
Now runs as smooth and quiet as an E-class should be.

Had mine done and since then it's been fine. They sent off my torque converter for a rebuild and modified the part all for £1200.00 all in. I had to go with out the car for a week while they carried out the work.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know .. any one have any idea .. of what is my problem ?
