Whining noise from rear differential area???

Anybody having a "whining" noise coming from the rear differential area?

Sometimes I have a high-pitched whining sound coming from towards the rear of the car, behind the rear seats. I notice it most when the car is cruising with almost no pressure on the gas pedal. If the car is under virtually any load it goes away. If I let off the gas completely, it goes away too.

The dealer replaced my rear differential, and this seemed to help for a short while only- now it's back as it was.

Any ideas? Any cures?

Thanks,
