A horn question

This is not quite a rational thing but then when was getting an MB rational?!

I used to like the sound of Mercedes horns --- a deep, rich, very loud Beep.

When I last visited my dealer the cars had horns that sounded like most Maericna cars --- made the sound of the horn or trumpet.

Is this true of all current E's? If so, how can I get the old fashoined horns. I suppose I could get these as `parts' for older MB. Any suggestions?

Thanks Mark. I am delighted you understand my apparent irrationality and agree! Do you know what the old MB horns used to sound like?

Thnaks for the site reference. Seems like they have a lot of nifty stuff. I also liked your discussion of lights and of protecting car finish.

Pbglas: I know what you mean- the first time I honked Iwas surprised too! Forgot about it 'till now. I'm gonna look for the "distinctively MB" horn now.

03, I am glad you know what I am talking about. It was a terrific sound.

Does the horn Mark recommend not like the old MB horns?
