Question Chrome headlight Rings

Has anyone seen chrome headlight rings for a W211? Where can you get them? Does anyone have a pic of theirs with chrome headlight rings?

STKLAW- I ordered some a few weeks ago- also added the door handle chrome covers. Saw a S430 with the headlight rings at the dealer- Looked cool. I will post a pic when I get them.

Next two things is to add chrome exhaust tips and change out the bulbs in the Park/Hi-Beam.

Has anyone purchased the headlight rims from Performance Products? Was it good quality? Everything else being equal, I'd rather purchase the rims from a domestic mail-order rather than overseas.

Same opinion as Rock. And they have a good return policy if you're not happy.

I ordered mine from Germany only because there were no U.S. sources available last November (when I ordered them). Nonetheless, my purchase was smooth and timely.

Thanks for the info Rock72, Redryder, and Gobenz!

I just thought it maybe easier to go with Performance Products in case there's a problem and I need to contact them or return the product.

I'll try it out...

I ordered and received the chrome headlight rings from Performance Products yesterday. I haven't installed them yet because the chrome rings also includes the horizontal separator portion (for lack of a better term) and for some reason, I'm not too keen on that look.

I went back through the old threads and looked at gobenz' pics and those rings do not appear to have that separator. gobenz purchased the rings from Eris at the time.

I'm thinking of returning the Performance Products rings and getting the Eris rings instead.

gobenz: could you confirm whether your rings are just rings or do they include the separator on the headlight rings?

Here you go STKLAW:

https://mbworld.org/forums/sh...ighlight=chrome

gobenz's post is actually in this same thread. You'll see it in one of the early posts after you first posed the question.

I could be wrong but it definitely looks like gobenz's rings do not have that middle separator.

I think you are right. I don't think his has the separator and I actually may like that better. I think I'll check the ebay site and see if the ones I saw for $65 were like his or mine. I kind of thought that with the separator that it might be harder to keep the headlight lens clean.

Once gobenz confirms, I'll return the rings and try the Eris website instead.

For me, I like the "natural" separator of the actual headlights to show through instead of being covered up by the ring separators.

Call me weird... :p

Chrome Rings

My chrome rings DO NOT have a strip in the middle. If you look at my pics, the third pic clearly shows that there is no strip. I haven't seen any close-up pics of any other suppliers rings, but I wouldn't be happy with a strip bridging the headlight.

chrome headlight ring with strip

My order came in yesterday from Performance Products and, as already mentioned, the headlight ring has a strip across it which is located above the separation in the headlight itself.

If I were ordering again, I might order the set without the strip, but I thought the chrome rings looked great even with the strip, and so I mounted them. I think the placement of the strip integrates very well with the headlight.
