2008 Bluetec E63 Facelift
I'm updating my trustworthy E320 to E63 look - searched the forum, and found lots of detail on the front conversion, but couldn't find part numbers for the side skirts / rear bumper conversion. I ordered all the parts from parts.com - just need part numbers for the side skirts and necessary rear bumper cover parts. Also, can anyone recommend a suitable dual exhaust tips?
I'd also like to upgrade the bumper side lights to clear - who makes the highest quality parts? There are a ton on ebay - hard to decipher which ones are best.
Thanks in advance for the advice - car is silver, and I'm installing 19" black wheels and Eibach lowering springs at the same time - should look nice.

The ones I installed fit so perfect however I am really trying to remember who makes them. I bought them from someone who had them new but did not want them for some reason. Prior to this purchase I bought some from Ebay but they were useless; I had to claim my money back and still have them with me since the seller refused to accept the return.
The Bluetec has exhaust curving down and not everything will fit if not made for that specific application.

I'm not sure about bluetec e-class but I had to change the muffler to center the dual tips for the e63 bumper. If you buy the bolt on ones they will sit too low on the rear bumber.

Finished update -
I finished the update to my 2008 bluetec a few months ago - I'm very pleased with the results. Here is what was done:
1. Complete E63 bodywork including front / rear bumper, side skirts, trunk spoiler.
2. E55 brakes front, E63 brakes rear w/ new SS lines
3. Swapped interior trim from brown to gray birdseye including steering wheel and keyless go shift knob.
4. Installed Eibach lowering springs
5. Installed new MB 19" wheels - very low cost from parts.com and look fantastic.
6. Installed Kleeman controller
7. Installed E63 mufflers / tips
Here are a few photos - they really don't do it justice.

Wow, I'm a big fan of the brake conversion. Better brakes is my biggest complaint with my E320 CDI. I've upgraded to more agressive pads/rotors but an E55/63 type conversion is going to happen in the not to distant future.

wow you did a very thorough job on your update! congratulations!
I would assume that the brake components you purchased would total to $3k alone... did you purchase all the body panels off parts.com as well?

e320 bluetec to e63 conversion
Hey man, i have an 08 bluetec too and im interested in doing the e63 conversion like you did. Im curious about how the car sounds with the new mufflers and tips, and any advice you could give about the conversion. I want to lower mine too but i cant find compatible eibach springs. Thanks, Tyler

Mind telling us the cost for the brakes. I love a BBK and OEM is even better. That's one thing I'd actually really like to do on our e350 is change the brakes to AMG's... with the stock 18" wheels the 4 pot calipers look so small to me.

There are a lot of options for BBK's. Just shop around. I would say the OEM BBK is the cheapest to go with and Brembo at the highest price point. You can probably get a set of E55 brakes for Under $2K and E63 BBK for Under $3K due to the two piece front rotor.

I found some e55 8 pot fronts and 4 pot rears on eBay for a decent price but then I forgot about having to upgrade to the larger 14" rotors, pads, shims..etc. So I am cool with the cost for the calipers but getting everything else would kick up the price to over 2k which in all honesty is a waste since I don't have an 8 cylinder under the hood...lol
I just don't like how small the 4 pot fronts look with 18" amg wheels, they look so tiny. Don't get me wrong braking is perfectly fine. On par with my STi but it's the space and gap around that looks so out of place to me. What a silly reason to complain about right, lol.

What about the mast brake cylinder?
I know that the front has to be drilled to a 14mm but that's easy. Rears are 100% bolt on and everything else should be as well...
What concerns me is that the AMG sport package does already come with the better brakes at 4 pots front/ 2 pot rears. I am not 100% sure if they upgrade from the factory included a better master brake cylinder for the 4 pots compared to the single floating fronts that normally come on the w211. I would think if they upgraded that then the master brake cylinder would be fine, but if it's the same as the standard single floating brake then I would be very histant to install the stock AMG e55 8/4 pots on the car without changing that...
Does anyone know for sure?

That's excellent to know about the booster then... I kept reading mixed results saying that AMG cars had a different booster due to the sheer size of the calipers compared to stock w211's.
Would you say there is an improvement in the brakes at all or did you do it mainly for looks?
My next question is does anyone know where to get the mounting bolts/shim/pin kit for the e55 brakes? Circled in this picture below?

No need to change the master cylinder or brake booster. I just looked up the part# from Mercedes and all the E-class W211 have the same brake booster and master cylinder including the E63. I have 8 pot front calipers and 4 pot rears and my pedal feels exactly the same as my original brakes did.
I've bled the system twice with a motive power bleeder, and going to manually do a two person bleed now and see what happens.
