heated steering wheel
I just picked up a new 2003 E320 last Friday. I found the switch for the heated steering wheel. The steering wheel heats up in the 2 and 10 o'clock positions almost immediately, but the heat diminishes within 10-15 seconds even though the red LED remains lit at the end of the stalk.
Is this normal? I was under the impression that the wheel stays heated until the switch is manually turned off.

I called the dealer, and was told that the heated steering wheel will shut off quickly if the ambient temperature is too warm. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens next winter. I'll enjoy the warm weather and the new car for now.
