E320 Engine stalled and won't start again!Help!!

I was driving my 2003 E320 to work two days ago. I stopped at a red light, the engine start shaking. I tried to give a little bit throttle hoping that could solve the problem, but ten seconds later the car stalled on the road. I tried to restart the engine for more than 10 times, but it only cranks and won't start.

After the car was towed to an indi shop, they did a scan. two codes poped up. P0300 stored and P0306 current. Apart from that they also found that two wires(grey/grey&white) running from the ECU to the 6th cylinder ignition coil are melted on the engine and consequently shorted to the ground, because the engine cover is the ground.(for those of you drive e320, watch out for the melting wires)
Anyway, after separating the shorted wires, they tried to start the engine again, it still won't start.

Then,
they checked the fuel supply pressure-good
fuses in the engine compartment-good(no power on f61 which is a 40A fuse, they did not check the relays)
Found no sparks on all the cylinders when cranking the engine.

The indi think that the ECU might be faulty, but they are not sure. If the ECU is faulty, they quoted that I'll have to pay for at least $3000 to replace it.
Does anyone encountered this kind of situation before? could anyone give me any advise or help? I'd really appreciate you help!!!

check the CPS ( crank position sensor ) our CPS's controls timing and spark so if its bad it will never start. sounds like u had problem with starting before and that could be your issue

Thanks haris12. I just got my car back today. the Mechanic said the crank position sensor is good, but a fuse is blown. Overall, it's just a easy fix. They charged me $400 for the diagnosis. It's a bit expensive, but compare with the $3000 ECU, I'm very happy with the result.

Your Indi charged you to much for diagnosis because dealership charge $120 at lease here in Portland Oregon they do

The diagnosis charge was probably just hourly shop time until they figured it out. That's pretty common with an independant shop.
