AMG wheels - Used x Reps ?
I would like to exchange my non- AMG wheels for the AMG wheels for the W211.
I have a black E550 which is making this a tough decision, so I would like some open feedback.
I live in OC in Socal, so I had the accessibility to go check out the oemplus wheels on ebay in matte and gunmetal. I have seen some of the W211's and E55/63's getting these replicas and so far everyone seems happy with them. I did not like the matte at all, but could be very happy with the gun metal AMG replica's in 18 for $500 for brand new wheels. These guys seem to back up there stuff pretty good. So I'm at $500+say $140 for swap over the TPMS over at a tire shop.. say $640.
To me, wheels are wheels, as long as the manaf will back it up and it suits my needs (not concerned with clearing big brake kits or weight), so I'm not too concerned with "keeping" german made wheels on my car. OEMplus is definitely a wholesale shop, but the guy there was nice enough to show me both colors/sets, and they look great in person.
On the OEM side, I found 2 sets of AMG wheel (and tire package's) locally for $650-700, and I'd get a set of 90% tread tires too. I'm at like 7/32, so I am fine on tires for now regardless.
Option 1: Black Gunmetal Replica's and keep current tires, would be ~$650, would be new wheels I would know they have no bends/scrapes/nicks, etc
Option 2: Silver OEM with 90% new tires, ~$650-700, would be used set, history would be unknown, wheels may not be in round, etc.
So what do you guys suggest? go new rep or find a nice used set?

I'm in the same boat as you - looking at the same replicas too, in socal.
The idiot previous owner of my e500 sport had replaced the amg rims with some ****ty $250ea chrome... srsly ??? What are they like atleast $3k from the dealer??
So ya, i'm in the same boat as you. wheelsoem dot com , mb7 Gun Metal. Thats what i'm prolly going to go wtih. My current chomes are 20s, and they don't look so hot. But i'm not sure if I want to go with 19s 20s or 22s.

I don't have a 07-09 W211 w/AMG package, nor do I have the time to seek out what I think you're talking about...that's why it's best that you provide the pic. Anyways, since you got a black car, I'd go with black/gunmetal look vs oem silver, which looks plain next to black. However, I'd give more weight to sticking with the AMGs, being that they're manufactured better than the knockoffs.
