Excellent replacement bulbs for HID conversions
For those of you who have converted your W211 halogen headlights to xenon, a company called Morimoto makes very high quality replacement xenon bulbs for any aftermarket conversion kit. The bulbs have a precision ceramic and steel mounting base and come in H7, among other sizes. These are comparable to Philips D2S bulbs for output, color stability, and life. Comparing these to the bulbs that came with my MTEC kit, the glass halide chamber is quite a bit larger, and they come with large gauge shielded cables with amp connectors. The 4300k xenon bulbs that came with my MTEC HID kit started color-shifting to a pinkish hue after six months. I replaced them with the Morimoto H7 4300k bulbs and am very pleased with the noticeable increase in brightness. The beam cutoff is much sharper as well. They are $40 a pair and have an 18 month unlimited warranty. You can find them at www.theretrofitsource.com, they have high-end xenon systems and components.
