Fluids change

My car is heading for a fluid change soon and would like opinions on what would be the most appropriate (best..?) fluids that you'll would recommend? Engine oil and Tranny oil.

Also, after fitting the CLS cluster, I got a bonus (to offset the now not working ambient light control, cruise control and weird fuel range readings) of oil temperature. Mine shows 95-103 degrees Celsius after a drive. Would this be normal?

80 to 90 deg is normal, any higher seems too high. You could have over the 50/50 mix of your radiator fluid. I only use Mobile 1 0W40 (the dealership I got it form use Castrol and said that is what AMG uses and other exotic Italian cars) As far as transmission oil, I would only use the MB oil, or at very least Lucas. These things can be pretty touchy so I would not skimp on the fluids. They aren't changed often anyway.

Engine oil MB Spec 229.5 and ATF Transmission fluid MB Spec 236.14 if you have a 722.5 or 722.9 Auto Transmission.

Didn't MB switch over to use 5w40 as standard now for all oil changes, versus 0W40?
