W211 Tail Light Update Plug and Play ?
hey there -- I have a 2003 E55 that I wouldn't mind "freshening up".
Are the newer tail lights plug and play? -- what year cars (just w211's?) have the updated lights?
Any other easy mods to "update" the styling?
thanks
david

Hi,
I had the same dilemma with my 2003.
The earlier lights have a different shaped "bulb circuit board" to the newer (clear in the middle) ones and will in all probability, not fit.
However I did get a set of the facelift ones (Depo), prewired with all bulbs, etc and were ready to plug in.
Another update I have been waiting to do and is a bit expensive is to change the door mirrors. Our blobby ones are just downright awful with horrific blind spots! The newer ones are very rare to come by, but there was a set for sale on ebay last week..
All in all, I prefer the way our older cars look compared to the facelift ones (no offense to post 2006 owners)!
