If you mean closest to the windshield, we use it when the car goes on the Ferry and we leave the car - so the alarm doesn't go off due to the shaking. The one closest to the rear of the car is for the sunroof.

04' E500 w/Appear. PKG, Panorama Roof

and I forgot to use mine when I had a flat repaierd and the alarm went off as the car was jacked up. Tele-Aid called in like 2 minutes.
