Have comand gps dvd v. 12 but does not work
Hi all.
I just bought the v. 12 of the GPS DVD instead of the v. 8.0 the E280 came with. The problem is that the DVD drive unit in the trunk will not read the DVD. Just says that there are no DVD in the drive. The old v. 8.0 is just fine. Couls it be that my drive needs an upgrade or the Comand unit itself perhaps? I have read of some firmware upgrade CD's on several forums. How can I check the current SW versions I have?
I have Comand NTG1, DVD drive in trunk, telephone system and Harman Kardon sound if this has any relevance to the configuration of the car.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the reply. As this post was staeted some time ago then perhaps I should update with what I have done since. What I was not aware of at the time of posting was that firmware is included on the GPS DVD and that this is automatically installed when inserting the new map disc. What I have also learned is that once you go up a version you cannot go down again. I borrowed a v. 10 disc from a local Taxi driver (also a E280) and this worked just fine. Allthough making my GPS unusable now beacuase my disc is v. 8 sigh. Will take car and v. 12 disc to dealer and have them take a look. And contact Command Online now...
