list of questions and a hello from a newb
hello gents, just bought my first MB. 2004 e500. i have been lurking and reading, but however the immense amount of posts/threads on certain things has left me with a list of questions still(maybe cause i read tooo much and confused myself). so flame on....
1. is there a certain hid kit that works best up to date for fog and lows/highs?
2. is there a scan tool that i can buy to clear service and inspection codes and warnings from my cluster?
3. where is a good place to buy replacement interior and exterior parts(need the pass seat dynamic control buttons and a new cup holder inerds)?
4. what products are used when cleaning and servicing the moon roof?
5. who has changed out for an aftermarket dbl din and what if anything did you loose as far as functions?
6. who has upgraded just the sub and what did you go with?
7. where can i get a free parts sponsor.lol.
please feel free to flame, but i do really need the most up to date info so i do this right. i have dont a grill facelift and ordered the trunk lip and roop lip from jbspeed so far.

Congrats and welcome! You bought a great car.
1) MTEC HID kit from a reputable eBay seller, or a Morimoto kit from www.theretrofitsource.com
2) You can reset service indicators from the instrument cluster, study your owner's manual. Check out www.autoenginuity.com for an MB-specific diagnostic scan/reset tool; you have to buy the MB expansion module to scan all subsystems.
3) Parts.com
4) I cleaned and lubed mine with WD-40 and a microfiber towel. There is a specific sunroof lube sold by MB, but mine works great with WD-40.
5 & 6) Haven't touched my Harmon Kardon factory system, it's one of the few stock systems that sound decent; other members have done double-dins and sub swaps.
7) Maybe Red Bull might be willing if you strap a giant can on your roof

ok a few more as i go through the car...
1. cant find a part number or the part ..tranny tube cap/dipstick
2. got nothing but cold air..found a great price on a change over valve but before i commit is there anything else i should check..i like to trouble shoot all possibilities
3. best way to detail the motor..lots of elecrtical stuff scares me when water will be involved
