2007 E320 CDI Bluetec
I HOPE IT;LL BE OK
Bought '07 Bluetec diesel ( 53,600 miles ) 11 AUG this yr. Car had no maint records, except for local MB dealer having done trans warranty ( and fluid change ) at 43K miles. Car condition was immaculate, so I took calculated risk and bought, figuring prev owner did what was needed .... VW dealer I bought car from said they know the guy, he has 3 other MB's and is **** about cars. Yeah..we'll see :
:
.
Now ( 5 NOV ) has 55.400 miles, with strange click/tick sound coming from under center console storage compartment. Winds up is driveshaft center bearing >> $650 next week. Seems a bit premature. Trans ( 7 speed auto ) is now doing harder BUMP when downshifting back to first until gearbox get warm. Maybe it's the colder weather, and taking longer for trans to get hot that is extending the bump.
Bluetec is second car ... I figured to drive only 5K per yr, so am hoping for extended service with yearly repair budget staying in line. My other car ('01 Volvo V-40 wagon ) has 147,000 miles, and is A-OK with Mobil 1 always having been in oil pan.

2007 E320 CDI Bluetec
Got Fingers Crossed
Bought '07 Bluetec ( 53,000 miles ) in AUG 2011. Car in nice condition, bought from VW dealer...checked OK by MB dealer. Just spent $1,600 ( have driven only 1300 miles ) to replace center bearing on drive shaft, and the rear propeller shaft..as bearing chewed up the machined surfaces on prop shaft. 400 miles after buying, click/click/click sound ( like a relay ) developed in/under center console storage box. Thought it was a simple electrical realy to be looked after.
Surprise ..... well, the pro shaft came in from Germany in 1 week ( not 2 ).
Love the car...monster torque.....hope this IS IT for awhile. MB used to be ( 1980's ) simple conservative cars...now all the electronics are "scary".... we'll see how it develops, and if this becomes a "keeper" for next 10 years, or reluctant trade in for Hyundai Sonata.

I had a 2003 e500 a few years back, bought it with 100k miles. I ran that car like it was meant to be driven. After driving it for 2 years, i i had to change the CD player for electronic, and the only mechanical problem was the ABS brake error, which was covered by mercedes benz because of a 10 year warranty.
Then I sold off my benz to some guy i still keep in touch, and bought a 2004 XJR with 80,000 miles. The jag's suspension went, then transmission, after rebuilding both, my bearing finally broke. Probably spent the cars worth in parts fixing it. (forgot to mention, i only drove the car for 1 year, and it was my weekend car. so less then 1500 miles)
After that nasty experience, and seeing that the guy i sold my old e500 benz to is still riding around with no problems at 135k, i told my self. yeaaaa
So i bought a 2008 E550 4matic this year with 50,000.
