DVD Nav Unlock vs Ipad Car Mount
Wanted to get a few opinions from the members here to see what the best option is for movie playback in the e350..
I am stuck in deciding between the DVD unlock from Cartronics and the Ipad mount from these guys: http://padholdr.com/mercedes-benz/ip...-benz-e-class/
I have always had the dvd/nav unlock in my previous vehicles (04' denali, 04' escalade, 08' tahoe) but when the Ipad came out i bought the padholdr and thought it was much better to have in the car then just the dvd unlock. With everything being digital nowadays and rental DVDs are becoming more and more obsolete I feel that the Ipad mount is the way to go.
The only gripe I have with the thing is that it is so bulky and will make the inside of my beautiful benz look like *****, but like I said it was awesome to have the ipad in my tahoe.
You guys have any recommendations or ideas? I almost have my mind made up on the padholdr product rather than the DVD unluck but my wife and I both strongly agree that it is distastful and I'll get a lot of questions/looks when people enter my car.
Thanks,
Joe

You might consider the VIM module instead. I use it in my car to watch videos (and even HDTV too) from my iPhone and iPod on my COMAND screen. I agree completely, the DVD is an antique these days, and I think the VIM is a MUCH better option than the VideoKey DVD unlock.
We also have an iPad holder too, but designed for the back of the seat for rear passengers.

I considered the VIM module on your site, but I would still need a way to get the digital video to it. I'd prefer the IPad mount in front but I have yet to find one that is clean and non-bulky looking..

Do you have an iPod or iPhone or other smaller digital storage besides an iPad? You could use the iPad too, just plug in the Apple cable to any of the above and you have it!
