I have them
I have a 2003 capri blue E 500 with the chrome door handle protectors. They were easy to install, they just stick to the concave part of the door. At first they seemed cheap, like they would fall off, but i have had them on for over a month and i have washed the car about 5 times and i have not had any problems. I have the pictures scanned and everything, i just don't know how to post them, if I could e-mail to someone and have them post it that would be great.

Second day My weddding ring scratched the paint under the handle- I was not being rough or fast- maybe just have larger than the normal hands- I put on the protectors and they stay on well. Look nice and are doing the job they are supposed to do- protect the paint! Not for all but I am glad I did it.

I bought a set of those and have been carrying them around in the trunk for 3 months now.
I slipped them into place to see if I liked the "look" and think that it may not be for me (it's a Bling thing). My car is black/black.
They probably would help save the paint, but since I do not wear any rings and keep my fingernails trimmed, I am hoping that my paint will be ok.

For those that want the door handle "well protection" and don't want the chrome option there is Another Choice....
This is what I've done. The Clear Bra material (made by 3M) can be used. I bought mine from www.stongard.com They come with instructions and easy to install. You could also have a glass tint outfit do it for you. The Stongard kit protects all my "forward facing" parts of my car (e.g., front bumper, front edge of hood and roof, A-Pillars, mirrors, leading front edges of the front fenders....etc.) Great Stuff. I'd highly recommend this stuff. No chips in the paint.

2004 Audi S4, 2003 CLK 500
I have the chrome door handle protectors on my CLK-500. They look great and have stayed on the car for 7 months now without any problems. I was starting to notice some scratches under the door handle when I first got the car. It was probably happening at the garage where I work when the attentants were parking my car. Their finger nails must have been long. That is why I went for the chrome protectors.

If that is THE house, then the car must just be the grocery getter.
Where are the pictures of the "serious" cars?

the house
DPBlessing, sorry but there are no "serious cars". The house is my parents house, I'm only 17. My parents say that they hate buying cars b/c they are such bad investments. My dad drove a suburban 5 years before getting a g500 which he claims he'll keep forever b/c its built so well. My mom had an e320 wagon that she drove for 12 years but got rid of after coolint problems, she replaced it with a 2001 range rover, and she also says she'll keep it forever. My sister's have the nicest cars in the family. One has a clk 320 cabriolet, the other has the e500, and the one who graduated college got a jaguar xkr. My oldest brother has an audi a4 3.0 and the one below him has a land rover discovery, i have a clk 430 which i was able to convince my dad to get because it is such a good value that you get the v8, amg aerodynamics, amg wheels, and a bunch of other stuff for only 5,000 more than a 320. I'll try and have better pics of the door hanlde protectors posted, i have a good close up picture.

By the way, i also thought that the door handle protectors would be too bright and flashy, but since the back of the actual handle is dark (capri blue) the protectors reflect the blue, and it makes them look less obvious.
